490 Series: KVM Extender for DisplayPort 1.2

The Draco ultra DP extender allows the operation of CPUs from a remotely located workstation including DisplayPort monitor, keyboard and pointing device over a pair of fibre cables. Transfer of fully digital video is supported in 4K resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x
2160 at a real 60-Hz refresh rate and full color depth (24 bit, 4:4:4).
The KVM extender also supports audio transmission via the DisplayPort interface, eliminating the need for additional audio modules, and enabling playback of the audio signal on monitors with integrated loudspeakers. Integration of optional Draco vario upgrade modules for digital audio input and output as well as data signals, such as USB 2.0 and RS-232 is also possible

Technical Specifications of the 490 Series: KVM extender for DisplayPort 1.2

Input: DisplayPort 1.2
Output: DisplayPort 1.2

In eSports competition where milliseconds count, video production must provide low latency and high frame rates for the gamer’s computers while producing audience previews
in standard 1080p/60. IHSE’s new Draco eSports extenders provide a complete production system supporting up to 240 frames per second for offline computers while secondary outputs can stream at 60 frames without additional encoders, decoders or other signal transmission devices
that could create excessive latency or GPU bottlenecks in competitive gaming computers. IHSE has solved this problem with the introduction of Synchronized Sequential Frame Rate Conversion (SSFRC) technology available in the ultra series of DisplayPort and HDMI extenders. This technology can be used to enable live screen display, real-time broadcast, and super-slow-motion (slo-mo) replay when combined with an EVS replay system.

The multi-stream transport protocol is part of the DisplayPort 1.2 specification. It allows multiple screens on a personal workstation to be connected to a computer using just one cable connection. The video signal is passed from the first monitor with built-in multi-stream hub to the second over a daisy-chained link. Both monitors are recognized and operated by the computer separately. Alternatively, the MST video signal can be split by external MST hubs and sent directly to any DisplayPort monitor.

This method combines several signals and transports them over a single medium in order to reduce clutter on desks.

General Features

  •  It allows two streams of 4K30 each or four streams of 1080p60 to travel along a single DisplayPort 1.2 or USB-C interface. Up to 63 displays could be supported.
  • An MST hub or display with built-in MST daisy-chain capability is required to break out the embedded individual video streams to the corresponding displays.
  • The graphics adapter will recognize the connected peripherals and provide the corresponding multi-display setup options as if multiple interfaces were directly connected to the graphics card.
